Our Commitment to Healthy Meals for Growing Children

Southwest Academies is committed to serving our students in all aspects of their life, from their social development to giving them the tools to excel in their academics. Our educators work around the clock to provide a supportive and engaging environment for our students. We know that there’s no bigger hurdle to your child’s success than not getting the right nutrition. Your child’s diet directly impacts their growth, development, cognitive function, immune system, and overall health. It serves as the building blocks to your child’s physical and mental well-being.

By providing your child a balanced diet, we ensure that your child can access the right nutrients for proper brain development, strong bones, and a hardy immune system. This way, your child can remain focused on learning about the world around them and having fun with their peers.

Nutrition Standards and USDA
Food Program Compliance

All of our meals and snacks are meals that are USDA-approved and meet the Child Care Food Program (CACFP) standards! These standards include a great variety of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, lean meats, proteins, and low-fat and fat-free dairy while minimizing added sugar and saturated fats.

Parent Communication and Transparency in Our Meal Program

Southwest Academies takes the nutrition of our students very seriously, and we want parents to know exactly what their child is eating. This is why we share monthly menus into our Procare app, as well as print them at the front office, so parents always have access to know what their child is eating that day.

How We Support Special Dietary Needs and Preferences

Southwest Academies understands that every child’s dietary needs are different. We have vegetarian options for students who do not eat meat due to personal or religious reasons. We also are able to work with students to ensure that any allergies or dietary restrictions are followed by making special meals just for them. We want every student to have access to food that not only tastes great but makes them feel good.

  • Proper brain development

Frequently Asked Questions

Southwest Academies puts our monthly menus into our Procare app as well as prints out physical copies that are kept in our front offices for parents to take. This ensures that there is never any question as to the nutrition that the children are getting.

No. Students are only allowed to bring in meals if they have allergies to the food we provide.

Parents are required to bring a doctor’s note that clearly states their child’s dietary needs. We will then work to accommodate them, ensuring that their child has what they need to stay full and healthy.

The meal programs are universal for all age groups except for our infant program. Infants will be fed formula until they can eat table foods. Parents of infants will be required to fill out a form detailing what formula they give their child. This will then be updated when needed by the parent.
